ITALIAN NETWORK FOR AUTOSOMAL DOMINANT ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE AND FRONTOTEMPORAL LOBAR DEGENERATION

The ItalianDIAfN Network has been launched in 2013 thanks to a grant by the Italian Ministry of Health (RF-2010-2319722) with the objective of creating synergies across Italian clinical and research centers involved in the study of genetic forms of Alzheimer’s Disease and Frontotemporal lobar degeneration.

The Network aims to develop and implement harmonized procedures across Italian Centres for the evaluation of subjects with autosomal dominant forms of Alzheimer’s Disease and Frontotemporal lobar degeneration.

The final goal of the Network is to align Italy to the most innovative international initiatives for the early detection of Alzheimer’s Disease and Frontotemporal lobar degeneration and to facilitate the implementation in Italy of clinical trials for these forms of dementia.

The Network is directed at families with a genetic form of Alzheimer’s Disease or Frontotemporal lobar degeneration, offering them the opportunity of being followed by Specialized Centers and of participating to innovative clinical trials for the cure of these diseases.
